Being a busy two days starting with a lunchtime concert at Le Caudan Waterfront, a great response was given to the music with spectators coming to discuss influence and find out more about the tour. Being able to play an old double bass through a bridge microphone was a pleasure with the warm sounds resonating through the hall.
Straight after the show we had to give an interview to the national paper about the music, my solo projects, influences and the future of the tour and band. This was again a great experience alongside our radio appearances but I wish I spoke french so i could understand and speak easier in Mauritius.
Friday evening we played Big Willies in the coastal area of Tamarin. Again a great response from the 60 plus crowd who attended. The venue has asked us back upon our next return to Mauritius where we will launch our album.
On Day 5 of the tour we awoke to bad news as our booked gig in the evening was cancelled due to logistical reasons. However spirits were kept high with an on the spot performance at Le Caudan Waterfront where we performed to around 80 people and were recorded for the MBC (Mauritian National Television).
The biggest news however was that our new manager Olivier organised for us to close the show after national music sensation Zulu at the Ciber City. This was a short 25 minute set to promote the rest of our tour with press and Mauritian industry personnel present. It was a pleasure to play.
Now for four days of rest before the tour kicks back off again. Time to go to the beach!
